I suppose you could say I’m pirating a topic I’ve seen around lately, but it is a subject I’ve been contemplating for awhile now. If you’re interested in fly fishing and the outdoors there are some real gems out there in the blogowoods or down on the blogocreek.

In no particular order:

Tar Heel Fly Fishing – If you like fly fishing predominantly in Western NC, then this is a resource you should be visiting. You’ll find excellent tips, fishing reports, incredible flies, and quite a bit more. You may also enjoy the associated forum as well as the Carolina Fly Tying Blog. Don’t feel like the information here is exclusive to Western NC, much of what you’ll find is appropriate for other regions as well.

Fly Fishing the Southern Blue Ridge – This is no ordinary regional fly fishing blog. At FFSBR you will find very unique posts loaded with personality and humor. If you like things on the lighter side, yet rather informative, this is the place for you. Well worth at least 15 seconds of your time. :)

FishingPoet – This is a very well rounded outdoor blog with lots of personal insight into the world of hunting and fishing. The writing here has a very comfortable feel to it that is hard for someone like me to find the right words to describe. Its almost like sitting by a fire listening to an accomplished author narrate his own story.

The River Damsel – Last but definitely not least, something that is way to few and far between in the fly fishing world, and that is the female perspective. Another well spoken blog with just the right touch of class and humor. Be sure to check out the Sunday Tippets.

For those of you who are listed here, try not to get the big head and all. I’m not sure there is any particular honor in making my list. However, those of you looking for more places to go, you won’t go wrong with any of these. There are many many great outdoor blogs out there, unfortunately they can’t all be listed here.
