That can be the case, especially below the Lake Murray dam. Generally stocking of these waters ends well before the stripers move up, and most of the trout have been removed by that time.

Joe, I don't keep an inventory of these, this was just a rod I built for myself, and I'll do some custom builds at times. I don't believe the TXL is available any longer. It was replaced maybe in 2010 or last year by the newer TXL-F which comes in the same weights from 000wt up to 4 or 5 wt I believe.

Keith, I have a lot more options available in 9'0". For the most part most 9'6" blanks seem to get more into your Orvis, Winston, Sage, and St. Croix blanks and tend to be 7wt or higher. In the 9 ft even range there are quite a few weights to choose from. Basically in 9' I could do from 3wt up to 10wt, but there is a 10'0" if you wanted to go up to that in 4wt to 8 wt. Send me an email to mark@misfitfishingrods.com and we can go over things in a little more detail if you like, and I will keep searching for some other options in the meantime. If you already know of a 9'6" blank that you want to use, let me know.
